O’hare airport to Waukegan, Il.;

Its great to go home ; and its great to be back on the boat!

Our trip to O’Hare airport to Minneapolis and back again was a whirlwind.   Luckily we found a $ 52 flat rate cab both ways – right to the marina.

The marina has incorporated leaf vegetables into the front garden area.   I’m not sure how to fix kale so will just share a photo.

Our refrigerator is empty; we tried biking to a grocery store only to find it closed early for Labor Day.    We stopped a McDonalds and bought 3 small milks for breakfast.  Thats how limited the provisions are with in a mile!   Our dock mates took pity and invited us to their end of season dock party.   Dock E rocks!    Wings, pulled pork, and all the fixings.   To close the night, Pete offered his car keys to allow us to drive to the Lewis Fresh Market in the morning.    Gotta love Boaters!

Our cupboards are full and the boat is clean.  Ready for the next leg.    A bonus-  joined at the marina by fellow loopers that we had first met in Mackinaw City.   Don and Elsa are doing the loop in a Mainship just like ours named Port Bonheur.

We will both be heading toward Chicago, they plan to do the Cal Sag which bypasses downtown Chicago.   Our route takes us to DuSable Marina right next to the Navy Pier, then down the river through Chicago.

Could hear music over in the park from our boat; so went to listen to the band.

Enjoyed the evening  with good food and fire pit tables.   The band played happy birthday for Dave.

    Hello from the Perlick’s in Buffalo – good to hear from you. Happy Birthday – Dave! I wanted to take the boat tour through Chicago when we were there visiting Doug’s daughter. Unfortunately the weather caused us to cancel. Will look forward to hearing about your trip through the windy city. Colleen, we have tried Kale a couple of times and just didn’t care for it so keep substituting spinach. Rain has subsided for a while and cooler weather is keeping skeeters at bay. Loving my new/used Suby! Look forward to your next update. Boat on! Sharon
