If anyone recommends a stop in Sister Bay – they will likely say “and don’t miss the goats on the roof”. Not knowing what to expect- it was a sight to see as we walked through down town. Just stop at Al Johnsons Swedish Restaurant and you are welcomed by beautiful goats munching on the green grass across the roof.
Be sure and try the lingonberries and Swedish pancakes while there.
The local Coast Guard rep stopped by at our slip and offered to do a safety check of our vessel. Always a good to have the annual sticker on board. We received new placards warning against discarding oil or garbage overboard. (prohibited on the great lakes and must be posted in the boat) We put the new inspection certificate sticker in our window. Came in handy as were leaving the marina and met a coast guard ship– They must have seen our sticker and passed us by with out boarding . Again a fitting end to the day was a beautiful sunset. The boaters next to us toasted the sunset then enjoyed the view- looked like they had enjoyed this tradition many times before.
We Salute the sunset and thankful for another day on the water.
