On Fathers Day, it was time to move over the next marina for storing the boat while we head for home to work for a couple weeks. We first biked over the make arrangements via the yellow bike program (free bikes to check out). We biked from Michigan over the river to Wisconsin and met the marina harbor master known as Captain Nemo.
The Harbor Town marina is “just up the river; take a left and go around the buoys as it is very shallow’ Great notes, however there was no buoy to go round, but we could see the weeds breaking through the water and figured out the correct channel to follow. Again; could not hail them on the radio; as this marina doesn’t monitor the radio. Good thing we had called ahead and stopped by to know which slip was reserved for us. It is right next to the sheriff boat , which gives added confidence in the security as it will be a few weeks while we go home to Buffalo MN.
Old Farmers Almanac
Does anyone read the old farmers almanac? Yes it is apparently in print. This is the first time 70 years that a full moon coincides with summer solstice. So, on the longest day of the year, Dave took some great photos of the full moon with his Canon SX 30.
Trivia: Palindrome Week
Did you notice we just completed a Palindrome week? Every date is the same forward and backward.
6-12-16; 6-13-16; 6-14-16; 6-15-16; 6-16-16; 6-17-16; 6-18-16; 6-19-16
How cool is that?
Worked out great, we stayed a couple days and got even more projects completed off the list. Not all work and no play- we tried out our kayaks for the first time this season and all is well. Also hiked the trail to the point to check out the restoration and future park project that is being developed.
Then home for a couple weeks and back as soon as we can. I will leave you with a sunset photo and one more page from my alphabet art travel journal:
